Based on the book by Viv Nicholson and Stephen Smith

Book and lyrics by Steve Brown and Justin Greene

Music by Steve Brown

Before 1994, when the National Lottery began to regularly create millionaires, a big win on the Football Pools was one of the few ways in which ordinary people could become wealthy overnight.  By Euromillions standards the win was modest, just £152,319, equivalent to £3.3 million today but the interview when Viv Nicholson said she would ‘spend, spend, spend’ became the stuff of legend. Her turbulent life following her husband’s win now seems like a common tabloid story, but in the early 1960s it was a unique tale, almost operatic in its scale.

Steve Brown and Justin Greene’s musical uses songs that completely reflect the period and are performed by our wonderful BA Actor-Musician students, who manage to combine singing, dancing and acting with multi-instrumental skills to create intensely theatrical storytelling. Like the previous cohorts on this course, they are bound to take the industry by storm very soon.
