It is my great pleasure to welcome you all to the start of a new academic year at the Guildford School of Acting. At GSA, we are proud to be a community that brings together students, staff, alumni, industry collaborators, and audiences, all united by a shared love of storytelling, creativity, and performance.

Each new academic year is a chance to renew our commitment to artistic excellence, to nurture the next generation of talent, and to share inspiring work with those who support and champion what we do. Our stages, studios, and classrooms are alive with exploration and collaboration, and the connections we forge here reach far beyond the walls of the school. With approximately 600 students across 15 programmes, the creative energy is strong!

This year promises a rich programme of training, productions, and partnerships. For our students, it is an opportunity to grow as artists and practitioners; for our staff, to continue shaping an environment where creativity can flourish; for our industry colleagues, to discover and support emerging voices; and for our audiences, to experience the joy and provocation that creativity uniquely brings.

On behalf of everyone at GSA, I extend a warm welcome and my gratitude for being part of our journey. Together, we will make this a term of ambition, discovery, and shared celebration of the performing arts.

With best wishes,

Professor Catherine McNamara, Head of Guildford School of Acting
